We are looking for a Director of Acquisitions to lead and grow a team of five to ten A&D landmen and own the production and profitability of the acquisitions division. This is a player-coach seat. You will set sourcing strategy, mentor and develop the team, drive the division's results, and still carry select relationships and deals of your own. You will report directly to the Executive Team, share in the division's profit, and have real influence over how we build the portfolio.
What you'll do
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of five to ten A&D landmen
Own division-level production and profitability across acquisitions and divestitures
Set sourcing strategy and basin and target prioritization
Review and approve deal economics, pricing, and negotiation strategy
Oversee acquisition and divestiture due diligence and title curative
Recruit, onboard, and develop contractors, and guide their path to full-time conversion
Maintain key owner and counterparty relationships and originate select deals personally
Partner with leadership on portfolio strategy and capital allocation
Report division pipeline, results, and P&L directly to the CEO
What we offer
Competitive base salary and full employee benefits, including a 401(k) match
A direct share of the acquisitions division's profit, so you participate in the upside of everything the division builds, not just your own deals
Standard commission on the minerals you source personally, with no relationship split
The tools and support to close: Enverus, Salesforce, and an in-house title, closing, and land team
A principal buyer with the capital to close, not a broker waiting on outside money
A direct line to the executive team and real influence over portfolio strategy and capital allocation
Requirements
Experience
7+ years in oil and gas land or A&D (10+ preferred), including direct mineral, royalty, and non-operated working interest transaction experience
Prior team leadership, desk-lead, or strong mentorship experience, comfortable owning a division P&L
Demonstrated track record of closing deals and of building or developing producers
Strong title and valuation fundamentals and proven negotiation skills
Bachelor's degree preferred; AAPL designation (RPL or CPL) a plus
Comfortable owning results and reporting to ownership
